AN ELEPHANT’S MEMORY

August 29, 2014

An old saying states that “An elephant never forgets”, in particular those who wronged them in the past, but what is unknown to most is that, like the rest of us, elephants cheat and use memory aids.

For you see, pachyderms utilise a kind of a mnemonic to remind themselves of those who mistreated them. By an astonishing process, yet to be properly understood, the memory of an elephant is transmogrified into a physical form, as over the years their ears gradually assume the appearance of their persecutor’s face.
